Who we are.
Alistair Jackson has been surrounded by art and art enthusiasts for most of his adult life. Husband to a practicing sculptor and father to three children, all of whom went on to study either Art History or Fine Art. He has been an enthusiastic collector of British twentieth-century art for more than two decades and has recently given particular focus to members of the New English Art Club.
Alexander Jackson benefited from growing up in a home surrounded by art, with parents who actively encouraged his artistic interests. His passion for art history was first sparked by a school trip to Germany during his GCSE studies. He went on to study History of Art at the University of Cambridge, graduating with First Class Honours, before completing both a Master’s degree and a PhD at the University of East Anglia.
Alongside his academic interest in art history, Alexander has maintained a strong commitment to practical art. He brings these two strands together through the study and practice of traditional painting methods, working with historically authentic materials and techniques.
